The congressional stalemate was still in progress and we were nervous wondering whether our flight would be cancelled or delayed. It was neither and we arrived in Nashville on time. We took an Uber over to our motel which was next door to where our van was stored. We walked over to the lot and retrieved our van. We were tired from the flight so did not go crazy sight seeing in Nashville.

That does not mean we didn’t see any sights. On Friday, November 14 we loaded up the van and drove to Costco and Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Well, we all know what is at Costco, but did you know that there are over 20 recording studios in the Muscle Shoals area of which two are famous: Fame and Muscle Shoals Sound. Have you ever heard of the Swampers? Bet you have. Did you collect any Paul Simon, Bob Segar, Linda Ronstadt, Cher, Lenard Skinner albums or CD’s.

The Swampers were local musicians that backed up many songs those artists recorded. One of the musicians is still alive and was hanging out at Muscle Shoals Sound. Anyway, we took the tour and it was a very interesting and enjoyable hour. When we go back to pick up the van, we may go to the other major studio in town called Fame. A lot of 60's music was recorded there. After the tour, we drove another hour to the boat and moved back aboard. We spent the next two days getting more provisions, cleaning and letting the spiders know there was a new sheriff in town.
