Newport, Rhode Island Largest Police Parade

We did not know there was such a thing as the National Police parade until we received an invite to watch it from our nephew Colin and Amanda's home in Newport, Rhode Island. There were representatives from Police departments throughout New England. It was even rumoured that the Illinois State Patrol was there. However, I did not see the Illinois state flag displayed amongst the marchers.

Amanda who has a cooking website that specializes in fabulous fifties recipes made some awesome brunch creations. After brunch we all congregated on the front porch to watch police cars with sirens blasting, motorcycle officers performing figure 8's in the street, the Shriners even passed by in their miniature cars. There were bagpipes, police department bands along with high school bands and even vintage police cars from the many different police departments in the area.
